The current generation of the Chevrolet Corvette introduced the model’s first mid-engine configuration. This allowed Chevrolet to push performance to another level, particularly in terms of handling.

More recently, the ZR1 has attracted attention because it has become the fastest Corvette in history. We already knew it was the most powerful after its specifications were revealed earlier in 2024, but testing carried out toward the end of last year has now shown that it is also the fastest.
The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 therefore stands as the fastest production car ever built by an American manufacturer. It makes no compromises when it comes to performance. With advanced technologies and unmatched raw power, it redefines what it means to be an exotic car.
With a time of just 2.3 seconds from 0 to 97 km/h (0 to 60 mph) when equipped with the ZTK Performance Package, the Corvette ZR1 delivers remarkable acceleration. The package includes a carbon-fibre aerodynamic package generating more than 544 kg of downforce at top speed, along with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires specifically designed to maximize grip.
Even without the ZTK package, the Corvette ZR1 takes only 2.5 seconds to reach the same speed. Impressive in every respect.
At the heart of the ZR1 is a 5.5-litre flat-plane-crank V8 engine fed by two turbochargers. This engine produces an incredible 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. Not only is it the most powerful engine ever installed in a production Corvette, but Chevrolet also states that it is the most powerful V8 ever produced by an automaker.
This level of power allows the ZR1 to reach a staggering top speed of 375 km/h, a record in its category and for any American production car. This performance is even more impressive considering that the car is designed to run on 93-octane fuel, which is available at many gas stations.
In testing conducted by Chevrolet, the Corvette ZR1 equipped with the ZTK package completed the quarter mile in just 9.6 seconds, compared with 9.7 seconds for the standard version. These tests were performed on an unprepared track, further highlighting the efficiency and power of this exceptional machine.
According to Corvette chief engineer Josh Holder, the ZR1 has not only set new standards for speed and power, it also establishes a new benchmark for performance relative to price. According to the article, no other production vehicle offering this level of performance is available for less than one million U.S. dollars.
Pricing had yet to be confirmed at the time of publication, but the article stated that Chevrolet expected to offer this level of performance for roughly one quarter of that price.
